Dr. van Mil obtained his PhD in cardiovascular research (2012) in the University Medical Center Utrecht on the role of non-coding RNAs in cardiac regenerative medicine and subsequently did a postdoctoral training in Sanford-Burnham, La Jolla, CA. Since 2016 he is working in the Circulatory Health Regenerative Medicine Laboratory in the Regenerative Medicine Center Utrecht, where he established an induced pluripotent stem cell facility for the generation of iPS-derived cardiac cells. His research team focuses on cardiac tissue engineering and the development of advanced human cardiovascular disease models using induced pluripotent stem cell technology and biomaterials.
