ILSE KELTERS, MD, MSc

PhD CandidateHeart failure | Cardio-oncology | Circadian Clock | Genetic cardiomyopathies | Myocardial Tissue Slices | hiPSC-cardiomyocytes

Ilse Kelters is a driven and accomplished Ph.D. candidate, actively engaged in the fascinating field of translational cardiovascular research after obtaining a bachelor’s in biomedical sciences and completing her Medical Degree. Ilse's research explores the complex interplay between heart failure, cardio-oncology, circadian clock biology, and genetic cardiomyopathies, using in vitro models such as myocardial tissue slices, and hiPSC-cardiomyocytes.

These advanced models enable her to study cardiac tissue in a controlled laboratory setting, offering great insights into the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying heart failure and related conditions. By employing these innovative tools, she hopes to bridge the gap between basic research and clinical applications, facilitating the translation of scientific discoveries into practical advantages for patients.
